When Ashley Riveraine jumped at the chance to travel back in time to meet her hero Alexander the Great, she never thought she would end up staying there…
Following Alexander the Great’s army on its journey across Persia, Ashley is walking the knife edge of history. As a presumed goddess, Ashley is expected to bless crops, make sure battles are won and somehow keep herself out of the history books.
Can Ashley avoid the wrath of the Time Institute while keeping the man she loves alive?
Review The Time for Alexander by Fany Van Hemelen:
Legends of Persia is an intriguing dive in history and fiction. It reads fluently and from the first chapter, I was captivated by this sensual book set in the time of Alexander the Great’s.
This is the second book in the series around Alexander the Great’s and his relationship with Ashley. In the previous one the author told how Ashley, who lives in the twentieth-century, decides to turn back in time to 330 bc. I didn’t had the opportunity to read that first one, but I can follow this second story without any problems.
Ashley is travelling with her love from Europe to Asia. Alexander his wish is to visit the elephants in Persia his beloved Ashley will always be at his side. Naturally this is complicated when your husband has two other wife’s and children from others. Even that is the least of her worries, but as she appeared as a mistaken goddess everybody has high expectations. For her the worst thing is to not interfere in the events. She had to promise by going back in time she wouldn’t take any action to change things. Of course when you know what is going to happen this is not a gift. Can she just go with the flow and follow the future as it meant to be?
Legends of Persia is well-researched by the author and gives a great insight of the culture and morality in that time. Around true events this is a fascinating love story through different countries and this is a historical book mixed with things of modern life and some fictional elements. The key players are good developed and their characters and adventures are impressive. I am looking forward to read the next ones in this series.
Jennifer Macaire lives with her husband, three children, & various dogs & horses. She loves cooking, eating chocolate, growing herbs and flowering plants on her balcony, and playing golf. She grew up in upstate New York, Samoa, and the Virgin Islands. She graduated from St. Peter and Paul high school in St. Thomas and moved to NYC where she modeled for five years for Elite. She met her husband at the polo club. All that is true. But she mostly likes to make up stories.
