As Marigold and Finn work through the web of Julian’s deception, will they learn to face the reality that things aren’t always exactly as they seem?

Review The problem with Perfect by Fany Van Hemelen:
The problem with Perfect was my first book by this Australian author. From the first sentence I was fascinated by this contemporary mystery. Marigold first looked as if she was in total control of everything. A real power woman, but when Julian, her husband, died she is in despair and is losing herself and doing unexpected things.

Finn is working for the company as a private investigator, where Marigold is a big player, and when Julian died Marigold asks for his help. Marigold and Finn are investigating why Julian was hiding some things. By revealing the truth Marigold has to be honest about her relationship and her ambitions to make a fresh start. Finn and Marigold dig into the case, but soon both persons have the other one kept in their heart. Can Marigold and Finn have a romance are is it too early? Will Finn, as a formal police officer, with a hard task, move on?

This is an engrossing tale with a bit of mystery, but the most important thing is how to cope with your grief and to be honest with yourself. The problem with Perfect is a well-written book with intriguing characters and when the secrets are unfold nothing is anymore what it seems.
